After working on the IBM Design Language for a while, InVision invited coworker Sam Winslet and me to present about how performance affects user experience. Performance UX was a topic I came up with to explain to designers how they can create faster experiences.
You may notice that the first section of the talk is completely focused on the user pain of a non-performant experience. We spent a lot of time on that pain on purpose to motivate designers to care about performance. We then go into exactly what design assets can be shared with developers to make sure experience appears as fast as possible.
